Council of Elders

GVG

What is GVG?

GVG stands for Guild Vs. Guild. Also referred to as a “guild conflict” it is a non-damaging conflict that is done for bragging rights, as well as earning Guild RP which can be used for extended buff packs or Epic item components. The latter (Guild RP) is only earned for WINS.

You can check the status of any current conflicts by clicking on “Guild” in the left-hand column, then “Conflicts”.

The basic idea is to get more overall wins than the opposing guild.  Example:  If it’s a conflict with 50 hits (for each side) and we get 49/50 but the other guild only gets 48/50….we win.  If both guilds end up with the same amount of overall wins, it’s a tie.  At least one of the two guilds must complete all of their attacks before the conflict counts. When initiating a GVG (not all players have this ability), be sure to choose a guild with a lot of targets to make it harder for higher-ups in the target guild to buff everyone.

Conflicts last for 24 hours so there is no rush to get our attacks in right away.

Help! Someone is attacking me! What do I do?

Relax.
Take a deep breath.
It’s OK.

If you are being attacked, you will NOT lose:

  • PVP points
  • Gold
  • XP
  • Levels

You WILL, however lose equipment durability, so you need to repair your kit often.

I want to jump right in and attack back !

Entering into a guild conflict without first getting the permission of an Elder or the Mournblade will not endear you to the guild. In fact if it’s done maliciously or repeatedly, you can expect to be kicked from the guild.

When we initiate a GVG, it costs the guild FSP and gold, plus each participant 10 stamina for each outgoing attack.

What are the considerations for entering a guild conflict?

Before considering whether or not you should enter a GVG, make sure that you can 1-hit kill the target (even if they get Reinforced Armor) and make sure you can survive a hit if you miss.

Follow these steps and you shouldn’t lose:

1. Find a player 25 or less levels below you, the further below you the better.
2. Get all offensive, defensive and PVP buffs possible.
3. Make sure your ATTACK is HIGHER than their DEFENSE.
4. Make sure your DEFENSE is HIGHER than their ATTACK.
5. Make sure your DAMAGE is HIGHER than their ARMOR x1.25 plus their HP
6. Make sure your ATTACK is HIGHER than their ATTACK and that your DEFENSE is HIGHER than their DEFENSE.
7. Repair your kit before EVERY attack.
8. Do not enter into a conflict unless you have 500 current stamina.
9. You are expected to win at least 13 attacks per conflict.
10. If you lose any attacks in an offensive conflict, you are expected to complete all 50.

In summary: find a low level player that you can hit and that you will kill even if they get Reinforced Armor and that you won’t die, even if they get Piercing, if they get Dodge/First Strike or you miss.

If you are still uncertain, consult the Mournblade.
